To love someone is not to insist that they follow the path we would choose for them. It is to respect that their journey may require experiences we neither understand nor would choose for ourselves.....an invitation is not a summons. Compliance is not the same as connection. The freedom to say yes has meaning when the freedom to say no is also respected. One person's expression of love is not the standard by which every one else's love is judged. Disappointment can exist with

Most people believe they see with their eyes. Yet they don't. The eyes merely gather light. The brain interprets it. And the quality of that interpretation is profoundly influenced by the health of the body. A congested liver alters inflammation, blood sugar regulation, hormone metabolism, detoxification, and the chemistry bathing the brain. When brain chemistry changes, perception changes. We don't simply think differently. We experience life differently. Fatigue feels lik

One of the greatest gifts aging has given me is freedom. When I was younger, I cared far too much about what others thought. I wanted to do things right, say the right things, and be liked by everyone. But somewhere around sixty, I resigned from the popularity contest. Not because I became unkind or indifferent, but because I became more authentic. I learned that speaking my truth with kindness matters more than pleasing everyone. I no longer need everyone's approval to know

Many people spend their lives searching for silence, believing it is the doorway to peace. Yet silence and stillness are not the same thing. Silence is the absence of sound. Stillness is the absence of inner disturbance. A person can sit alone in a quiet room and still be filled with mental noise, worry, judgment, and endless thought. Conversely, one can stand in the midst of traffic, conversation, children laughing, dogs barking, and life unfolding all around them—and remai

Consciousness is the Ocean. YOU are the wave. Consciousness is the Mountain. YOU are the rock. Wave and rock have the same essence from which they originated So in essence YOU are the Ocean. You are the Mountain. YOU ARE Consciousness! Consciousness disguised as YOU! Your existence is determined not by your substance (wave and rock) but by your essence (Ocean and Mountain). The rest of life is to get fully reintegrated with the Ocean and the Mountain. To get back to

How Adversity Strengthens Character Malta is a beautiful, crazy, formidable vibrant island whose energy will haunt your spirit forever dare you lay your foot print on its earth. The natural beauty of this island is unforgettable. Yet, the five years my mother spent raising our tribe in Malta single-handedly, after our father immigrated to America awaiting citizenship (yes in those days it took five years for citizenship and we were in a quota line), are years I’ll ne

Four confessions of dying people as related by a hospice nurse of 20 years 1. 'I regret not following my heart and finding my true purpose.' 2. 'I regret not having the courage to love others fully.' 3. 'I regret not having the courage to let others love me fully.' 4. 'I regret that I judged myself so much and didn't love myself more.' This fifth one I added: 5. “I regret having gone on my deathbed finding out only too lat

Remember those lined papers we were provided in classrooms in our day so we could learn to write cursive. Boy that ages us doesn’t it. Cursive is no longer taught in schools these days. That lined paper helped us to write straight and stay within specific parameters for forming the letters of the alphabet – until we learned to no longer need to use the lined paper as we no longer needed those lines as a guide because we could do well or even better without them. Well, l

WALK THAT HUGE ELEPHANT OUT OF THE ROOM…………………………… As a Psychologist with a specialty in Marriage and Family Therapy for four decades, and having worked literally with thousands of couples and families in my clinical practice whose journey I so respect and honor, I am fully aware that often what couples are talking about is not what they are really talking about. The content of their discussion is a smoke screen for deeper issues. Often there are issues of inequality and l

LISTEN TO THE WISDOM OF YOUR BODY (your physical body is a guest house to Spirit) and evolve into the NEW QUANTUM HUMAN…….the body possesses wisdom, awareness is directed inward, healing begins with listening, the heart is not merely an organ but a center of knowing, be receptive rather than striving. BREAKFAST like a king, LUNCH like a prince and DINNER like a pauper….this was our motto in Europe when we lived there. It was our lifestyle. So now see below for further sugge

Cs (uppercase) Ground of Being is coherent, rigorous, and non-dual.cs (lowercase) individual awareness appears when Cs expresses—metaphorically, through the human lens—into form. Expression is the inevitable signature of infinity. If infinity did not express, it would be unrecognizable and excluded from appearance. Thus, Cs reveals itself through all material “downloads.” Failure to distinguish these two domains collapses us into a crude dualism. Cs, as the ground of being, i
